Questions about CBD that you always wanted answers to

What is the difference between full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate?

Many people are often unsure about the different types of CBD oil products on the market and are confused by articles on the internet or TV about the topic of CBD. That's why they ask themselves a lot of questions about CBD.

What are the 3 main types of CBD oils?

1. Full spectrum

Full spectrum products contain other cannabinoids in addition to CBD. Terpenes (the essential oils of a cannabis plant) and flavonoids are also extracted from the plant. Research has found that the combination of different cannabinoids promotes the so-called entourage effect. Full spectrum oils are extracted from the entire hemp plant. full spectrum CBD oil has a higher biological activity.

2. Broad spectrum

Just like with a full spectrum, other cannabinoids are also extracted with a broad spectrum. Unlike the full spectrum CBD oil, the broad spectrum CBD oil, for example, contains barely detectable traces of THC.

3rd isolate

Isolates are the purest form of CBD. All other compounds and components of the cannabis plant have been removed. CBD isolate oil is made from CBD crystals, which also contain hardly any THC containsThese crystals are often used as a base substance for the production of other CBD products.

How much CBD should I take?

Does CBD make me “high”?

Our products do not make you high (not psychoactive) – this is a fact. Our products contain less than 0,05% THC. THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the cannabinoid in the cannabis plant that causes a high. During our production (CO² extraction) we remove it almost completely – leaving only good and valuable in our product (analysis certificates from German third-party laboratories confirm that there is no more than 0,05% THC in our products).

Will CBD Show Up On A Drug Test?

Since our CBD oils are so-called "full spectrum oils", they have a certain THC content of 0,05%. This is of course below the limit of 0,2% THC set by the EU and therefore does not fall under the THC content of prescription drugs. However, it is possible that a urine test for THC consumption will be positive. The reason for this is that some tests do not differentiate between the various cannabinoids, i.e. the test does not distinguish whether it is THC or CBD. If you are tested for THC consumption, for example, please state that you are taking a dietary supplement made from industrial hemp and could therefore test positive for THC.

What is CBD, THC, CBG, CBC and what do these abbreviations stand for?

CBD = cannabidiol
THC = Tetrahydrocannabinol
CBG = Cannabigerol (the mother of all cannabinoids)
CBC = cannabichromene

Is CBD addictive?

No, CBD has no addictive effect. Research shows that CBD only very rarely causes a type of addiction or leads to an overdose. The average CBD consumer takes less than 50mg of CBD per day. A person would have to take 18.750mg in a very short period of time to have potentially fatal side effects. There is no known case of an overdose of CBD.

Can I give CBD to my pets?

Just like humans, our pets also have an endocannabinoid system. CBD is applicable to all mammals. cats, dogs, horses and humans all have an endocannabinoid system that uses CBD to release its beneficial effects. In any case, it is always recommended that you consult your veterinarian first before giving CBD to your pet, especially if your pet suffers from certain medical conditions. For cats, always make sure that it does not contain terpentenes.

How is Redfood24 CBD oil extracted?

There are different ways to extract CBD from the hemp plant. The most popular are using either ethanol or CO2.
The most gentle method is supercritical CO2 extraction. Using low temperatures and pressure, the hemp extract is carefully removed from the cannabis plant and impurities are completely removed. Our CBD oils are obtained using CO2 extraction.

Should I only take CBD before bed?

If you only suffer from sleep problems, then YES.

You can carry out your normal daily activities by consuming CBD oil at any time of the day. CBD does not have any psychoactive properties that cause a euphoric effect.

Why does the taste and color of CBD oil vary?

The product is produced using a natural process, so the harvest is never the same. It varies throughout the year depending on the length and frequency of dry and rainy periods. However, our oils ultimately all have the same health benefits and we guarantee the stated CBD concentrations based on our laboratory tests.

Can you get a prescription for CBD oil?

In the case of very serious illnesses, such as cancer, it is also possible to have cannabis products prescribed in Germany. However, this mainly applies to medications containing THC, the sale of which is otherwise prohibited in Germany. Sativex is currently the only prescription medication that also uses CBD. Conventional CBD oil, however, is only approved as a dietary supplement. This means that it is subject to the strict Health Claims Regulation. At the same time, you can buy CBD oils in pharmacies as well as ordering them from online shops or directly from the manufacturer. However, the CBD oils available there are usually significantly more expensive than those available from the manufacturer. However, you cannot have CBD oil prescribed.

Should CBD oil be stored in the refrigerator?

Answer: Since CBD is very sensitive to light, Redfood24's CBD oil is delivered in a brown glass bottle with opaque outer packaging. Storing it in the refrigerator will extend the shelf life of the CBD oil even further. However, the refrigerator should not be set too high, otherwise ice crystals can form in the oil and the consistency will become more viscous.

How long do I have to leave the CBD oil under my tongue?

Hold the CBD oil under your tongue for about 30 to 60 seconds. This will allow it to be better absorbed by the body. To further improve the effect, you should not eat or drink anything for half an hour afterwards.

What do I do if I find it difficult to count the drops?

When you drop CBD oil under your tongue, it is often difficult to count the individual drops. This is often because there is still some saliva under the tongue. This reduces the sensation of touch under the tongue. Therefore, swallow all liquid in your mouth before taking CBD oil. It can also be helpful to stand in front of a mirror when counting the drops. Many people find this to be the most reliable method.

What do I do if I don’t like the CBD oil?

You can mix CBD oil with a neutral-tasting cooking oil and then drip it under your tongue as usual. Mixing it with food is also possible. You can find out more about this in the next point.

Can you cook with CBD oil?

In principle, CBD oil should not be heated too much, otherwise it can evaporate and be lost. This happens at around 160 degrees. However, it is possible to pour the oil over hot and cold dishes. However, the larger the portion of the dish, the more the CBD oil is diluted. Fatty foods generally promote the absorption of CBD oil, but dropping it under the tongue (sublingually) is more effective than taking it with food.

If you do not want to do without taking CBD through food, we recommend choosing CBD oils with a high CBD content to compensate for the reduced absorption of the ingredients.
